Special Board Meeting Minutes
June 24, 2026
The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Community School District Board of Directors met at the District Offices in Eddyville on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. for a special board meeting. Visitors in attendance included: Ann Ohms.
Call to Order: President Judy called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. Roll call: Ed Glenn, present via Zoom; Eric Klyn, present via telephone; Brianne Batterson, present via Zoom; Micah Van Mersbergen, present via telephone; Kyle Teach, present via Zoom; Tyrone Lobberecht, present via telephone; Tom Judy, present via Zoom. Quorum established.
Approve Agenda: Glenn moved, and Lobberecht seconded, to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
Resignations:
- Glenn moved, and Lobberecht seconded to accept the resignation from Rhea McDowell, 4th Grade Teacher at Blakesburg Elementary. Motion carried unanimously.
- Van Mersbergen moved and Klyn seconded to accept the resignation from Brian McDanel, custodian at the Jr/Sr High School. Motion carried unanimously.
Closed Session: To evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session. No motion was made to enter closed session, item died for a lack of motion.
Reconvene Special Meeting: Board remained in open session because no motion was made to enter closed session.
Action on Continuance or Termination of Classified Employee Contract: No action was taken on the continuance or termination of the classified employee contract because the board did not enter closed session.
Adjournment: Glenn moved, and Batterson seconded, to adjourn the board meeting. Meeting adjourned at 2:35 p.m.
